David emphasized the complex character of transparency here in machine learning, questioning the simplistic perception of the concept. He pointed out the growing community of transparent systems from multiple providers, including technology corporations, academic institutions, and countries.
However, he expressed reservations about the nature of transparency in many Large Language Models, pointing out that certain models offer barely more than a "bag of numbers" devoid of clarity in their development processes.
